You don’t need to use scheduling features in HootSuite or TweetDeck to publish a post at a different date and time to your Facebook Page.

Few take advantage of this sneaky Facebook Page tool. While you can’t schedule a post from either your Facebook personal account or a Group, this is how you schedule a Facebook Page post.

To schedule a post to a future date:

On your Facebook Page, write your post in the Status field as you normally would.
Instead of selecting the Post button, choose the downward Triangle next to it. You have 3 options:

  • Schedule
  • Backdate
  • Save Draft

Select Schedule
Select the Date and then the Time
Select Schedule

A scheduled post to a future date must be set between a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 6 months ahead.

To backdate a post:
On your Facebook Page, write your post in the Status field as you normally would.
Instead of selecting the Post button, choose the downward Triangle next to it. You have 3 options:

  • Schedule
  • Backdate
  • Save Draft

Select Backdate
Select Year then Month then Day
Select Backdate

This backdated post will be published immediately in the News Feed, and achieved at your chosen date.
However, if you selected the checkbox “Hide from News Feed” then your post will be absent from others’ News Feeds and will only be archived your Facebook page.

The last choice is to Save Draft. This will allow you to hold your post like a visible bookmark for you to edit and schedule at a later time.
